Touring Around the World

Over 15.000.000 people have enjoyed concerts given by André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra on tour so far. Rieu and his orchestra play around 90 concerts per year worldwide and have performed in Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Mexico, The Netherlands, Northern Macedonia, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slowakia, Slowenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taipeh, Thailand, the UK & USA.

A special highlight are his traditional summer concerts on the Vrijthof Square in his hometown Maastricht. In July 2019 André Rieu welcomed 150.000 fans from 99 countries, performing twelve concerts on the romantic medieval square. 2019 also marked his 100th concert on the Vrijthof for which he was awarded a plaquette from the Mayor of Maastricht.

120 people are on André’s payroll and on top of that about 100 freelancers work for him while on tour. His orchestra members and soloists come from thirteen different nations. André also has his own costume atelier, as well as four stages and sets of instruments, to cover transportation between the continents. This way he can rehearse in Maastricht, while one set of instruments is already on its way to the U.S. and another one to Israel, Chile or New Zealand. He and the orchestra travel with their own fitness trainer, doctor as well as three cooks. André Rieu Travel, founded by Pierre Rieu, offers package deals to his concerts, including tickets, dinner and hotel accommodation.
